Wekweètì and Ekwǫ̀ has won several awards in festivals

Wekweètì and Ekwǫ̀ is a short film made with footage Neema shot in Wekweètì and on the land between 2000 and 2002, while she was living and working with the Tłı̨chǫ people. Wekweètì is an isolated community of fewer than 200 in the Canadian North. It can only be reached by plane. The film features the late elders Alexis Arrowmaker and Mary Adele Eyakfwou sharing stories about their nomadic early lives and how they came to settle in Wekweètì in the 1960s. The film underscores the Tłı̨chǫ people’s connection to the caribou, documenting the hunt and all that follows: skinning, making dry meat, cleaning and tanning of the hide. Wekweètì exists as a settlement because of the caribou, which are now endangered. Such footage could not be filmed today.
